Transforming the Future Health of Rural Communities through Economic Development Project Begins
CSRHA recently kicked off its USDA-funded capital campaign project, titled Transforming the Future Health of Rural Communities through Economic Development. The objective of the project is to provide training and technical assistance to seven rural California healthcare organizations who have identified an interest and need to prepare for developing and implementing a capital campaign in their communities. The project will help position participants to begin fundraising efforts that will ultimately lead to expanded facilities and enhanced ability to provide healthcare at each site.

The project team includes members of CSRHA staff and expert consultants from John Snow, Inc. and the Rural Health Design Network who will provide training and technical assistance to the following beneficiaries:

• Glenn Medical Center in Willows, CA
• Mendocino Coast Clinics, Inc. in Fort Bragg, CA
• Butte Valley Health Center in Dorris, CA
• Tulelake Health Center in Tulelake, CA
• Siskiyou Family Healthcare in Yreka, CA
• Southern Inyo Healthcare District in Lone Pine, CA; and
• Warner Community Resource Center in Warner Springs, CA

USDA project resources and participant site profiles will be available through CSRHA’s website (www.csrha.org) as a resource for other organizations interested in preparing for their own capital campaign.
